About the Area
New Port Richey is a small coastal town situated along the Gulf of Mexico and about 35 miles northwest of Tampa. Rich in history and old Florida charm, this community features a thriving downtown historic district and scenic riverfront with plenty of great places to dine, shop or simply hang out.
The entire town is alive with culture. Catch a local production or concert at Richey Suncoast Theater, a small, historic movie theater that’s been transformed into a playhouse. Or enjoy one of the many special events or festivals held throughout the year, like the 11-day Chasco Fiesta, Cotee River Seafood Festival and the Fourth of July Main Street Blast.
With plenty of natural areas and parks to explore, you can reconnect with nature at the James E. Grey Preserve, Sims Park along the riverfront, and nearby Anclote Key - known for its pristine beaches and turquoise waters. There’s even a multi-million dollar Aquatic Center with pickle ball courts nearby, with free admission to members of SilverSneakers.
Plus, all of the major attractions, recreation, sports and culture of the Tampa Bay area are just a short drive away.
I enjoy Orchid Lake RV Resort because everywhere I go I see so beauty - the boardwalk has the most beautiful sunsets and the awesome wildlife is my favorite.
